Microsoft is expanding its AI-powered Bing chatbot from its initial launch to now include mobile and Skype applications.

The Bing chatbot is being integrated into the iOS and Android versions of the Bing app. Users selected for the preview will be able to initiate a conversation with the chatbot by tapping the Bing button in the app. Queries can be entered by tapping or by using the microphone button to speak.

The Microsoft Edge app has added the same feature as Bing chatbot which can be accessed from the app’s homepage on both iOS and Android devices.

Bing’s new chatbot function can be used in Skype by all users on all platforms. You can either talk to Bing individually or add it to group conversations where anyone can ask questions. Bing can provide answers in bullet points, text or simplified responses in over 100 languages.

If you’re not familiar, AI-driven Bing is Microsoft’s way of competing with smart AI chatbots such as ChatGPT. It can provide elaborate, intelligent answers to your questions, ranging from basic questions such as the distance to the moon to more complex requests such as creating a full itinerary for a trip to Japan. Currently, the feature is only available by invitation and was previously only accessible through the Microsoft Edge desktop browser.
